November 2019 Book Selection

Happy November!

This month’s book selection is The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog: And Other Stories from a Child Psychiatrist’s Notebook by Dr. Bruce Perry and Maia Szalavitz. This book explores developmental psychology through the lives of several children Dr. Perry worked with throughout his career as a child psychiatrist. These children have been abused, abandoned, raped, and terrified and this book reveals what Dr. Perry and Maia Szalavitz have learned about what truly happens when a young brain is traumatized and how the mind can recover.

This is definitely an intriguing read and it can be useful no matter your profession.

I hope you enjoy this selection.

Happy reading! :)
