February 2023 Book Selection

Happy February and Happy Black History Month!

For February, I will be enjoying the classic novel, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison. The Bluest Eye tells the story of a young black girl named Pecola Breedlove who yearns for blue eyes, which she believes will make her beautiful and loved. The novel explores themes of racism, beauty standards, and the destructive effects of internalized oppression.
