June 2019 Book Selection

This month’s book selection is The Art of Living: Peace and Freedom in the Here and Now by Thich Nhat Hanh. Hanh is a Buddhist monk and peace activist. In this book, he shares seven transformative meditations, aimed to open our perspectives of the interconnectedness of the world. He gives personal examples related to the practices he offers, as well, further demonstrating how we are all connected.
“About thirty years ago I was looking for an English word to describe our deep interconnection with everything else. I liked the word “togetherness,” but I finally came up with the word “interbeing.” The verb “to be” can be misleading, because we cannot be by ourselves, alone.” - Thich Nhat Hanh
Happy reading! :)
